Pain-Free Injections
Before an injection, we always apply a gel to “pre-numb” the area. This reduces the feeling around the injection site. Our dental clinic uses a custom formulation from a local compounding pharmacy. This formula is not commercially available and allows us to reach higher levels of numbing so injections are pain-free.
Calaject Computer-Assisted Local Anesthetic
Calaject is an innovative system that digitally controls the delivery speed of local anesthetic to maximize comfort. Studies show that rapid injection causes more pain because it can lead to swelling of tissue. As a result, slowing the injection speed can lead to a dramatic increase in your comfort. The Calaject system is also helpful for single tooth anesthesia of lower molars. Unlike traditional methods that numb the entire lower half of your face including your tongue and lip, we simply numb the tooth and nearby gum tissue, so you can get back to your normal life as soon as the appointment is over.

Relaxing Sedation Options
Oral conscious sedation is a prescription pill that patients take before their visit and is a great option for patients with anxiety or patients who wish to be more comfortable during their visit.
Complete sedation allows you to forget you were ever here, and for large treatments, our office will bring in a dental anesthesiologist to help with the appointment. Though it is expensive, it’s a great option for those who need a little more help with anxiety and fear management.
