Many dentists miss the boat in understanding how to deliver a beautiful smile. They either lack the training or are looking to apply a specific formula to smile design, failing to recognize the importance of nuance, artistry, and individualism. The reality is, each smile, including the length, shape, color, and texture of teeth should be dictate by the patient’s face, age, and their desired outcome. Our cosmetic dentist Dr. James Raymond and the Skyline Dental team will help you achieve a beautiful, confident smile that you will love to show off.
A smile is a form of communication that speaks all languages. It says, “hello” and is a projection of confidence. The smile is often undervalued or overlooked when individuals are looking to make a change and improve themselves and their quality of life, possibly due to innate fears or misconceptions surrounding dentistry and poor past dental experiences. While improving dental health or the appearance of a smile can be extremely rewarding, many are reluctant to take that step. Modern dental technology has made it easier than ever to enjoy the benefits of an improved smile and comfortably undergo treatment. Now is a perfect time to get started on your smile makeover.
At Skyline Dental, we offer a variety of different procedures that can help give you a beautiful smile. Dr. James Raymond can use treatments including veneers, composite resin, and teeth whitening to improve your appearance and boost your self-esteem.We can discuss your aesthetic goals, budget, and oral health to determine which option or options will be best for your needs and desires.
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that cover your teeth and can transform your teeth in nearly any way you can imagine. From shape to size to color, dental veneers give you the power to recreate your ideal smile. We utilize advanced smile preview software and then work with you to make it perfect before we send your impressions to our off-site lab. We do everything we can to help turn your dream smile into a reality!
There are two materials we can use to create your veneers. Composite resin is a faster and more budget-friendly alternative to porcelain and we can construct resin veneers in our office. This option, which is also known as dental bonding, sometimes requires less tooth preparation, making it a good choice for teens or young adults who’ve had very little previous dentistry and we want to preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible. Porcelain veneers are fabricated in a dental laboratory and last longer than their composite resin counterparts. They are also incredibly durable and easy to maintain and will provide a luster and polish unmatched by composite.
Looking for a quick and easy way to enhance your smile? Teeth whitening may be a great solution. You might be surprised to learn just how much whiter teeth can improve your smile. We offer custom take-home whitening kits so you can brighten your teeth in the comfort and convenience of your own home. Instead of reaching for over-the-counter products during your weekly trip to the grocery store, we recommend that you utilize our professional teeth whitening treatments to ensure effectiveness and longevity. Professional take-home teeth whitening is stronger than store-bought whitening toothpastes or whitening strips.
We take impressions of your teeth to create custom whitening trays that fit comfortably and keep the whitening gel in place. Then, we’ll send you home with your upper and lower trays, a tube of professional-grade bleach, and a set of whitening instructions that will help you get the most out of your treatments. Desensitizing products and enamel remineralizing products will also be provided so you can comfortably maximize whitening without compromising the health of your teeth.
It’s common practice to test drive a car before buying it, so why isn’t this common practice in dentistry? The basic answer is cost and feasibility. Luckily, digital smile design technology makes it possible to “test drive” your smile before you commit to cosmetic dental treatment.
The process allows you to be an active participant in the creation of your new smile. You can choose from different options for the size, length, and color of your future teeth. You will be able to see a 2D rendering of your smile to make sure it looks exactly how you would like. Once you are satisfied with the 2D model, we are able to 3D print a mock-up that you can try on and take home with you. Your friends and family can provide feedback to ensure the proposed new smile is natural and right for you.
We will begin with an initial consultation during with you and the dentist will discuss your goals and mutually decide on a plan that is tailored to you to give you the results you desire. You may need to return to our office for multiple planning, treatment, and follow-up visits after care to ensure the best results. Before beginning treatment, we will outline the various visits and timeline to complete the work so you know exactly what to expect.
In addition to cosmetically-focused treatments, there are many restorative dental procedures that also have cosmetic benefits. In these cases, the goal is to restore your smile by repairing damaged teeth and/or replacing missing teeth while also ensuring that your new smile looks beautiful and natural. At Skyline Dental, we take both form and function into account for procedures including tooth-colored fillings, dental crowns, bridges, all-on-four dentures, dental implant restorations, Invisalign and conventional braces, and other types of dental care. If you are getting dental implants, you will also work with an experienced surgeon and visits will be coordinated between our office and the surgeon’s. We also work to help you preserve your existing teeth and keep your smile healthy and beautiful with preventative care.
After your new smile is complete, you will be able to enjoy it and show it off. At follow-up visits, we will check any restorations to make sure they continue to look great and function properly. We may advise you on new regimens for at-home care, for example, if you need to care for a new dental bridge or implant. More information about self-care tips for specific types of dental restorations on our dental hygiene page.
