Up to 75% of Americans have some degree of anxiety about going to the dentist. If you are one of them and have concerns about seeing a dentist for the first time, you are not alone. At our Tucson dental office, we understand that many people have reservations about getting the dental care they need. We are committed to providing you with the most comfortable experience possible and we are focused on your well-being throughout the entire process.
Before you even step foot in our office, we want to make it clear that we are a judgement-free zone. No matter how long it has been since your last dental visit, we are proud of you for taking this important step toward better oral health and overall well-being.
If you have any anxiety about your visit to our Tucson dental office, please let us know! We will do everything in our power to ease your worry and address your concerns. No matter what previous experiences you have had with dentists, rest assured that we will do our best to work with you and give you a positive experience.
When you visit our Tucson dental office, we will tell you everything you need to know about your teeth and how you can keep them healthy for life. We make sure to thoroughly explain all aspects of your dental care so that you understand what steps you can take to keep your smile healthy.
During your visit, we will discuss a dental treatment plan that is appropriate for your personal goals and the current state of your oral health. You may elect not to follow through with all of our recommendations, and that is okay. It is our goal to fully educate you so you are aware of the risks of choosing to forgo treatment. As long as you are fully informed, the decision is entirely yours and we are here to support you. We are simply your guide and a partner in maintaining your dental health, not a “drill” sergeant, pun intended.
During your first visit with us, we will review your medical and dental history. We will also discuss your goals and get to know you as a person while you get to know us as well. This helps us to build a positive relationship.
We will also take photos of your teeth. This helps us to track progress over time and to inform you of any conditions. We will use these photos and digital X-rays to give you a tour of your mouth. It is our goal to use these pictures to better illustrate what we mean when we discuss your oral health. X-rays also help us to identify problems that may not be visible on the surface (such as cavities between your teeth) and allow us to establish a baseline for tracking changes over time. We may also take a 3D scan of your teeth and print a physical model if this is necessary to explain any issues or to develop a long-term plan for your dental treatment.
