Why is Skyline Dental insurance-independent?

Your dental care should be a decision between you and your dentist and not influenced by dental insurance companies.

Skyline Dental seeks to provide the highest standard of care and create results for our patients that last a lifetime. That means taking our time and using the best materials to do the job right the first time. In contrast, offices that are in-network with insurance accept very low payments for much of their work. In order to make ends meet, financially, they need to cut corners with your care and rush through appointments and treatment decisions.

This often leads to poor patient experiences, dental care that does not last and has complications. Other common issues are:

EUndertreatment–procedures insurance doesn’t cover are not discussed as options with the patient
EOvertreatment–recommending procedures that are covered by insurance, whether the patient needs treatment or not.

Do you take my insurance?

Skyline Dental is not “In-Network” with any dental insurances. What this means for you as a patient is you can still use your insurance at our office if you have a plan that is a PPO. These plans allow you to see dentists outside of your dental network, but you will typically pay more to see an independent office. We will collect full payment the day you are seen for treatment and submit information to your insurance company. Your insurance company will then reimburse you directly, usually by mailing a check.

What if I don’t have dental insurance?

A dental insurance plan does not make sense for every patient. Dental insurances make their profit by being the middle man and deciding how your money will get spent at the dentist. The best way to get quality care and save money is to keep them out of the equation and work directly with your dental office. Even if it seems like it will save you money, most plans will end up costing you more in the long run. So what can you do to get the care you need without insurance? Check the sections below on ways to pay for treatment, including methods for payment and options for financing.

Can I finance dental treatment?

Instead of paying for your entire treatment upfront, third-party financing allows you to split the cost of your treatment into smaller, more manageable monthly payments. This is a great option for restorative or cosmetic procedures such as multiple crowns, veneers, implants and implant dentures, full-mouth restorations, orthodontics, and much more. Financing allows you to get the treatment you need sooner, before they become more complicated and more expensive.
